Memorial tattoo ink infused with the ashes of someone you refuse to let go.
Is this real?
Yes. Here is exactly how it works — every step, every instrument, every gram. We believe clarity is a form of care.
Collection
You send us a small sealed portion of cremated remains — typically 1 to 3 grams — via our provided medical-grade transport kit. Every container is labeled, tracked, and handled only by our certified technician.
Purification
The remains undergo a three-stage sterilization process: heat treatment at 232°C, followed by ultrasonic filtration to achieve a particle size below 10 microns, and a final UV sterilization cycle. This eliminates all biological material while preserving the mineral composition.
Suspension
Purified ash is suspended in pharmaceutical-grade tattoo ink at a controlled ratio of 0.4 grams per 10ml. The blend is homogenized and sealed in individually labeled sterile vials — one per session, never reused.
The Tattoo
Your artist works the infused ink into the skin using standard professional technique. The ash does not alter the needle, the healing process, or the final appearance. What changes is what it carries.

Will it hurt them?
No. What follows is what actually happens in our studio — not a metaphor, not a promise. A procedure.
Gloved hands, sealed environment.
Every session begins in our dedicated preparation room. The technician dons nitrile gloves, opens a sealed vial containing your loved one's processed remains, and confirms the weight — exactly 0.4g — before blending begins. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is casual.
Labeled. Sealed. Irreplaceable.
Your vial is engraved with the name of the person it carries. It is never stored near another family's materials. After the session, the remaining vial — if any — is returned to you with the certificate of use. We do not keep what is not ours.
The needle enters. So do they.
The artist applies the infused ink using standard professional technique. The ash particles, suspended at sub-10-micron size, travel with the ink into the dermis. They remain there permanently — the same layer where all tattoo pigment lives. The process is identical to a standard tattoo. The meaning is not.
Is it safe for me?
Two dermatologists. Forty-seven follow-up cases. One answer: yes.
"The sterilization protocol Indelible uses exceeds what I require of standard tattoo pigments. The particle size eliminates granulomatous reaction risk. I have reviewed their process documentation and am satisfied with its rigor."

"Healing timelines in the 47 cases I reviewed were consistent with conventional tattoo ink. There were no elevated infection rates, no abnormal inflammatory responses, and no contraindications specific to the ash component."

My son Marcus was 28 when he died. Fentanyl. I had his ashes in a box on my dresser for eleven months and I couldn't look at it. Now I carry him on my forearm. I can feel him when I press my hand there. That sounds strange to people who haven't lost a child. It doesn't sound strange to me.
Not everyone can afford to hold them.
We subsidize memorial tattoo sessions for families who lost someone to addiction, military service, or violence. Every donation goes directly to a named recipient. No overhead. No campaigns. Just a vial and a needle and a name.
